Barbara Maietta

Financial Planner

I became a financial planner so that I could help individuals and families, like myself, create financial solutions that give them the confidence and ability to achieve their long term goals. I am passionate about understanding people’s hopes and needs and partnering with them to create holistic financial planning solutions that they can understand and achieve.

With over 25 years in the financial services industry, Barbara works every day to do her best to help her clients achieve financial security and transition to active and fulfilling retirements.

Financial planning with Twelve Points has provided Barbara the opportunity to follow her passion to meet, understand and help people achieve their financial goals.  With a diverse background in financial services she draws from all her knowledge, experiences and expertise to create a holistic financial planning experience for our clients that results in roadmaps they are able to follow to achieve their dreams.

Before Barbara came to Twelve Points she spent a dozen years at Fidelity Investments.  In her final years there she worked with industry experts to study the needs of people as they transitioned to retirement and helped Fidelity improve how they serve their clients during this amazing, challenging and sometimes scary time.  This is when she decided to dedicate her career to working with individuals and help them plan to prepare for and transition to retirement.  Barbara also spent a dozen years at Allmerica Financial in Worcester and began her career at Price Waterhouse’s Management Consulting Practice in NYC.

Raised in northern Virginia she then earned her BS in Industrial Engineering at North Carolina State University and her MBA at The Wharton School in Philadelphia. She has lived in many cities on the east coast of the USA.  She loves Boston the best!

Barbara lives in Wayland with her husband Chris and has two daughters and a son, all in their early 20’s.  She is an avid tennis player and competitive archer.  She fervently supports both of her daughters rowing careers, both have competed at an international level for the US Rowing National Team and the entire family has actively supported the Wayland-Weston Rowing Association high school team since its inception in 2000.

Barbara holds a Series 65 securities license and has completed the Boston University Financial Planning Certificate Program.
